No need for us here to cover Amsterdam with its canals and monuments. The old centre is easily accessible from Rembrandt’s Elephant.
Line 3 (tram), getting on at Amsterdam Muiderpoort, will take you directly to the Museum quarter (Stedelijk Museum, Van Gogh Museum en het Rijksmuseum).
Line 14 (tram), getting on at Javaplein, will take you directly to the Tropenmuseum, Artis, Portugese Synagoge, Rembrandthuis, The Dam (Paleis en Nieuwe Kerk) and Anne Frankhuis.
Line 22 (bus), getting on at Javaplein, will take you directly to the Maritime museum, NEMO and Central Station.
The city is best explored by bicycle. Bicycle rental is around the corner and you can explore the city on your own. Recommended is a cycle tour through Waterland, with its picturesque villages and nature. Even Volendam or Marken are easily accessible by bicycle. Travel time to Waterland is 15 minutes.
Do you wish to walk to the old city centre? Then we have mapped out an attractive itinerary for you. This will take you via the Dappermarkt and the Entrepôt Dok, past Artis to the city centre. Count on 45 minutes walking time to the centre.
